I just added a new section to the Articles Needed area. It would be great to get articles for these folks because they're going to be featured in an upcoming issue of SCI FI Magazine, and we want readers to be directed to SCIFIpedia to increase our traffic. More eyes, more better!

Signature

Add your signature to every entry you make and you'll offer people the choice of answering on the page you're already talking on or linking through and answering on your personal talk page. With the latter, you get a notice every time you log in if there are new messages.

A signature is two dashes followed by three tildes (--~~~~) which gives your username or four tildes (--~~~~~) which gives your username and adds the date and time. Like so: --JohnRDouglas 01:52, 20 May 2006 (EDT)

Sorry I can't help with the question about the show. --JohnRDouglas 01:55, 20 May 2006 (EDT)

The show was called The Odyssey, I believe...

Link to Date in the Timeline?

You do a great job with This Day in SCI FI!

I was wondering if it would be possible to put in a link to that day's date in the Timeline part of Scifipedia. For example, if you click on December 1, you'll see the additional (much briefer) listings for today. The Timeline is growing pretty rapidly, and since it is cumulative, it will become more comprehensive over time.

Thank you. I've been meaning to say that I think the timeline is becoming a vital resource.

I took up your suggestion and added a link at the bottom of This Day's entries. Is that what you had in mind? Other suggestions for incremental improvement?

Candy

Nice Link, Lancelot :)

Yes, that's great! It might be nice if it described itself a bit: "For more information on today's date, click here to go to the Scifipedia Timeline"), but that's not at all necesssary.

Thanks!

Feedback appreciated.

Ah, there's really nothing better than incremental improvements . . . except maybe a bunch of bananas!

Slam! Erb!

FYI, the Today's Featured Article "read more" link for December 7 is misdirecting to Edgar Rice Burroughs (who was featured previously). It should be going to Hammer's Slammers, I think.

Just call me QA.  :)

Thanks, Mr. QA

Excellent catch!

February 12 Birthdays

I happened to notice that the birthday folks listed on the mainpage for February 12 (Oliver Reed, Carol Lynley, and Kim Novak) were actually born on February 13th. I only noticed because I know the February 12 ones pretty well...I'm one of them.  :)

Is Annabeth Gish One of the 4400? ;)

The Read More link for Annabeth Gish seems to go to Jordan Collier...

Time Travelling Editor's Journal Link

The read more for the shout-out is pulling up the previous issue. I noticed it last night, but the page seemed to be in a bit of flux.

-- Mr. QA ;)
