Michael Kenmore

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Michael Kenmore is the name given to a Wraith captured by the Atlantis team. Michael was captured as a means to test Dr. Beckett's prototype Iratus bug retrovirus. The virus worked and Michael was transformed into a human with no memories of who he was and how he came to be in Atlantis.

Michael was led to believe that he was a member of the expedition originally from Texas. He had been captured by the Wraith and rescued. He was being kept under guard until it could be assured the wraith had done nothing to alter his personality. He was told he injections used to maintain his human appearance were insulin for his diabetes.

Though Michael appeared to grow comfortable with Teyla Emmagan, who claimed they were friends, he was disturbed by Ronon Dex's aggression and dislike of him. Michael began to experience nightmares about the Wraith and asked Dr. Beckett to prescribe a sleep aid. The pills proved ineffective and he returned to the infirmary where he discovered discs that documented his transformation.

Michael was angry believing humans to be no better than the Wraith. He was moved to the Pegasus Alpha Site. Michael began to experience the cravings of a Wraith and Dr. Beckett intended to increase his dosage of the retrovirus but Michael manipulated Teyla's mind and escaped. He took her through the gate to a world occupied by the Wraith. He began to revert and attempted to feed on her but was shot by Colonel Sheppard before he could do so. A Wraith cruiser arrived and took him.

Some weeks later, Michael convinced the queen of his hive ship to broker a deal with Atlantis for the iratus retrovirus to transform other humans into Wraith so they could feed on them. The deal went sour when the Wraith used Atlantis to get information about Earth and took McKay and Ronon with them.

McKay and Ronon managed to escape with Michael's help but he found himself betrayed again when they transformed him into a human once again along with several other Wraith. When Michael realized what had been done to him, he and several Wraith took over the Alpha site and disabled a fail-safe nuclear device meant to kill them should they become dangerous. The planet was bombarded from Space by Sheppard and his team but Michael escaped on a Wraith vessel.

Michael reappeared in the episode "Vengeance" on Tarranis. Michael wiped out the locals, experimenting on them and transforming them into nightmare hybrid creatures using Iratus bug DNA. He was discovered by Sheppard's team but again, managed to escape.

Michael disappeared for a long while before returning once again in "The Kindred, Part 1 " where it was revealed he was behind the kidnapping of the Athosians. Michael also kidnapped Teyla whom he lured to another planet, using visions of the father of her unborn son. Sheppard's team discovered was again playing with genetics and had cloned Dr. Carson Beckett to assist him with refining the Hoffan drug for his use and his plans to create a hybrid race with all the strengths of the Wraith but without the need to feed on humans.

Michael laced the water supply of several human worlds causing wide spread illness. Those who survived became immune to Wraith feeding, leading to more in fighting among the Wraith over their food supply. His master plan was to weaken and eventually wipe out both Wraith and humans and repopulate the galaxy with his hybrids. He had successfully transformed several Athosians, incluing Kanaan, the father of Teyla's son. Knowing that both Kanaan and Teyla carried the Wraith DNA that allowed them to tap into the Wraith telepathic network, Michael determined their child was essential in perfecting his hybrids.

Michael never succeeded in using Teyla's child however, as both mother and son were rescued before he could complete his plan. Michael, again, escaped.
