A Knight in Shining Armor is a 1989 time travel romance novel by Jude Deveraux.
Synopsis
Devastated at being cruelly abandoned by a thoughtless boyfriend and left with neither money or passport, Dougless Montgomery weeps in an English Churchyard right atop the tomb of a long dead knight. To her surprise, a Knight, the one belonging to the tomb appears, believing she is a witch who has conjured him into being. Her knight, is Sir Nicholas Stafford, born in 1564. Unfortunately for Nicholas, she isn't, and she has no idea how to return him to his own time. Dougless gets a lesson in history and Nicholas learns the wonders of the modern era and in the process the two fall in love. The two are eventually led back in time to the 16th century where it is Dougless who must adjust.
